At Emerge Ag, we discover new products and technologies from international companies and introduce them to New Zealand on the companies behalf.
We believe products must have a true fit into the NZ farming system and have created a unique 4 Ticks Checklist that products must pass before we will support it:
1. Efficacious and effective in NZ - It does what it says it does
2. Provides improvements or efficiencies to NZ agricultural systems - Improves on farm productivity
3. Meets product quality standards and crop safety tests - Safe to use
4. Matches environmental and sustainable practices – Good for the future
This check list ensures we avoid developing and launching unwanted products and services and makes the kiwi farmer our top priority when we investigate new concepts.
How we started
Emerge Ag started during the global pandemic, Covid19 in 2020. Like many other countries, New Zealand went into lock-down and the borders were shut to the outside world. The international crop protection and supply companies that had serviced NZ from offshore now needed experienced, in-country support to represent their business.
As we investigated this opportunity further, we also identified a gap in the industry for an independent, local crop protection company to represent small to medium enterprises (SME) that had suitable products but were unsure of the NZ agricultural systems fit. We quickly realized, these international companies had quality products and fantastic emerging technologies but kiwi farmers could not access them.
From here, Emerge Ag was established, global partnerships were created and NZ farmers and growers could now access new products and technologies to enhance their productivity and day to day operations on the farm.
